Haas F1 Team will be thrilled with their qualifying in Spielberg, putting together a sequence of clean laps to make a double Q3 appearance.
The American squad has struggled to maximise the potential of the VF-22 on most race weekends this season but are well placed to take important points after an impressive qualifying.
Kevin Magnussen and Mick Schumacher qualified 7th and 8th respectively but will start the Sprint race from 6th and 7th after Serio Perez's penalty for exceeding track limits.
Guenther Steiner is pleased with the team's current situation and hopes to take advantage tomorrow:
"It was a very good day today. We started strong in FP1, everything was calm, and we had no issues.
Then we went into qualifying knowing that we can make it into Q3 on performance, and we executed it.
It was a good job by the whole team, and hopefully, we can take it over to tomorrow's Sprint, keep on getting points and continue like last week."
