Sebastian Vettel heads into the Monaco GP after a very impressive showing for Aston Martin in qualifying, putting his AMR22 into Q3,

The German showed consistent pace in all three qualifying sessions and has provided Aston Martin with the hope that their b-spec package has the potential to compete in the midfield this season, so long as the team can continue to bring improvements. 

The 4-time world champion gave his thoughts post-qualifying: 

"Overall, we're very happy. We got into Q3 and had a really good lap in Q2. In Q3, the first run was good, so I think we are happy...

Sebastian Vettel's record in Monaco is very strong, and with the possibility of rain not to be dismissed, the German could find himself fighting for good points. 

Vettel might prefer a dry race, given a top 10 finish would count as a significant result for Aston Martin in their midfield scrap. 

Regardless of this, Aston Martin's 'b-spec car' has the potential to improve throughout the season, so a point finish could help the team develop some momentum as the European swing in the calendar continues.
