There were whispers about Norris's health concerns from Friday, as the Briton suffered from hay fever and a variety of unpleasant symptoms.

Things only seemed to worsen on Sunday morning, as just hours before lights out images began to circulate of Norris visibly struggling with his health, with the intense Spanish heat no doubt playing a part in worsening his situation.

Lando Norris skipped post-race interviews to receive precautionary medical checks to identify more specifically what caused his troubles throughout the weekend.

It has been confirmed that Norris was suffering from tonsillitis, demonstrating some of the obstacles the McLaren driver faced at the Catalunya circuit.

He will now rest ahead of next week's Monaco GP when it is expected Norris will return to full fitness.
