Toto Wolff Confident Mercedes Will Win A Race This Year

Mercedes team principal, Toto Wolff, spoke about his hopes for the team in the rest of the 2022 season. When speaking to Sky Sports after the Dutch Grand Prix, he said:

“You have got to take risks where we are. I’m confident we’ll get the win this season, and we are going to try the maximum. We are a bit closer today, and it is good fun in any case.”

Daniel Ricciardo Says He Is 'Not Too Proud' To Be A Reserve Driver For 2023

Daniel Ricciardo's chances of getting a seat for the 2023 season are becoming to look a bit slim. Since it was announced that he would be parting ways with the McLaren, Ricciardo has been linked to Alpine and Haas but nothing has been announced yet. 

Ricciardo commented on the situation, saying:

"Even if it's a reserve, I don't want to be too proud to say I'm too good for that."

It is rumoured that Carlos Sainz is facing an engine penalty at the Italian Grand Prix. He had a new engine for the French GP so the current one is now four races old and the Ferrari team are reportedly considering replacing it.

Team principal, Mattia Binotto, said:

“From now, and until the end, we will have to replace the power unit and comply with penalties. The moment to do it is yet to be decided."
