Pierre Gasly's future has been under constant speculation over the past few years, with the Frenchman's role in Red Bull's plans remaining unclear since his demotion from the team halfway through 2019.
Despite putting together consistently impressive seasons for Toro Rosso and Alpha Tauri since his demotion, there have been questions about whether Red Bull sees Gasly as a potential asset moving forward.
Alpha Tauri's #10 has been linked to the likes of McLaren and Aston Martin, given Gasly's performances over the past two years have granted him some value in the driver market.
Franz Tost, however, has ended any speculation about Gasly's next stage in F1, revealing with complete certainty that he will continue with Alpha Tauri for the 2023 season.
Gasly has already spoken candidly about his future, pointing towards his contract with Alpha Tauri, which does not expire until the end of 2023.
There have been some rumours that Gasly has the ability to leave his contract early under the right circumstances, but it seems the Frenchman is set to spend another year with Red Bull's second team.
This is not necessarily a disaster, as whilst he would undoubtedly like to move away from Red Bull, there will likely be better openings for another season at the end of next season.
Gasly could have forced himself into Aston Martin, for example, for next season. However, the Grand Prix winner will likely have far more attractive options available at the end of next year, with the potential to exploit openings at Mercedes and McLaren.
