Fernando Alonso will be bitterly disappointed that yet another reliability issue has cost him, as a technical issue prevented him from even starting the Sprint. 

The Spaniard can point to several Grand Prix this year where he has either retired or been compromised by persistent issues with his A522, costing him several points throughout the season. 

Alpine look fast enough to take P4 in the constructors, but without their mechanical failures, they would be comfortably clear in the standings at this stage.

A frustrated Alonso gave his thoughts to the media after his DNS:

After overcoming floor damage to qualify 9th for the Sprint, Alonso is now tasked with climbing from the very back to salvage points in the main race.

Still, this will be another weekend of damage limitation for the Double World Champion, who will feel that his points do not reflect his performances this season.
